Is there a way to reduce Child Support without hiring another Attorney?

I pay Child Support to my ex for our 2 boys. When the CS was set, I was making quite a bit more money and that is what it was set on. I’m in Texas and here, with 2 kids, CS is supposed to be only 25% of your income and now it is 40% because I lost the job I orginally held and haven’t been able to find another one making as much. I’ve been paying it without complaint, but it’s getting harder and harder to pay all of my bills AND the CS.

Is there a way to file for a reduction in child support without hiring an attorney? (I mean come on I can barely pay CS much less legal fees) Anyone done it this way? Or am I expected to get a second job to make up the difference? Keep in mind that we have JOINT custody, we both provide clothes and whatnot for the kids, and my ex makes over $80K a year with me struggling to break 30K. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
Just to clarify - I pay CS to my EX HUSBAND - lol! I guess it is assumed that if I’m paying I must be the guy. I did the honerable thing and gave him primary custody because I knew that he could provide a better life, earn more, etc. and this way both parents would be equally involved. Just sucks that I did the right thing and am getting the short end but such is life.
