How to reduce monthly bill for iPhone?

For Christmas I received an iphone, I love the phone so far, except for the fact that it’s so freaking expensive to own! I just opened my bill for this month so far and the bill came out to $151 and some change! WTF!! I Have the starter text plan which is 200 txts and the “mandatory” data plan which is $30 the the basic plan of 450 anytime mins and 5000 nights and weekends. Now my B/F also has at&t so we use our mobile to mobile all the time so I surely didn’t go over on my mins and my family uses at&t as well. What I’m pretty much saying is that I didn’t do anything special for the bill to be so much. Are there any tips that I can use to reduce my bill, also is there any truth to free wi-fi for the iphone? Should I get rid of the data plan all together. ( They say that you can’t but I got a little trick up my sleeve =0) ) and no I do not want to unlock the phone or change my carrier Thanks a bunch
